Private security refers to measures taken by individuals, groups and corporations to protect their private interests company material, equipment, facilities, information, and personnel. Security guards perform work, for remuneration, that consists primarily of guarding or patrolling for the purpose of protecting
persons or property. The "S/G" may work a rotating shift schedule, extended overtime, on a full or part-time basis, at construction sites, hotels, malls, retail stores, armored car services, body-guarding, airport screening agents or banks. Extensive patrolling, sitting, writing notebooks and reports, providing witness testimony, taking statements, conducting lawful arrests, customer service, access control, ID checking, emergency/disaster/alarm response, crowd control, surveillance or any combination of these tasks are required depending on the site worked.
