Admission Requirements for International Students
Registered as a career college under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005
Admission requirements for diploma and certificate programs at Canadian Career Education College (CCEC), a Designated Learning Institution (DLI # O262228554872).
Important: Due to current IRCC regulations, the college is only accepting international students via the Online-DE format for Vocational Diploma Programs. All applications for the in-person format will be automatically denied.
The Admission Process
The complete admission process can take 30 to 45 days. It begins with an initial assessment and an offer of admission. If all documents are complete, an offer may be made in about a month. The offer is not a Letter of Acceptance (LOA). You then have 30 days to accept; once the LOA fee is paid, your documents are reviewed again before final documentation is issued.

Respond to your offer by the expiry date in your offer letter.
Letter of Acceptance
Once all documents and fees are in order, we issue your LOA by email.
Required Documents
Applicants must provide
- Copy of government-issued photo ID (such as a passport bio data page or government ID card)
- Copy of proof of status in Canada (if you are currently in Canada)
- Copy of proof of name change, if applicable (such as a name change affidavit). Marriage certificates are not proof of a legal name change.
- Copy of a secondary school certificate, or another degree or diploma equal to at least a Canadian secondary school certificate, or an ECA or MSA (if applicable)
- Be 18 years of age or older at the time of registration
- Accept the Letter of Acceptance (LOA)
International Credentials
- Successful graduation from an academic secondary school program or equivalent, or
- Be 18 or older and pass a qualifying test approved by the Superintendent, or
- Meet other academic qualifications or age requirements set as a condition of the program's approval, and
- Meet any additional CCEC requirements, such as the English language assessment
- Pass an aptitude evaluation if required
Mature Student Status (MSA)
Mature student status may be granted to applicants over 19 years old without a high school diploma or GED, based on skills and experience gained since leaving school. Applicants must pass a qualifying test approved by the Superintendent.
Conditional Admission Through EAP (ESL)
Applicants from eligible countries who do not meet the English requirements may receive a conditional acceptance, subject to completing the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program at CCEC or another designated institution. This option is not available for applicants from some countries.
English Language Proficiency
The language of instruction at CCEC is English. If English is not your first language, show proficiency with one of the following:
- IELTS Academic with an overall band of 5.5 or more
- TOEFL score of 80 (online) or 550 (paper-based)
- MELAB score of 80
- PTE Academic with a minimum of 50 overall
- At least 3 years of full-time study at a school in a country on the exemption list, with a letter or transcript confirming the medium of instruction
- Otherwise, enrol in the CCEC ESL Advanced Program with a Conditional Letter of Acceptance and complete it with a minimum of 60%
When to Apply
- Check the current schedule and enrolment status for intake dates.
- We recommend applying at least six months before the program start date.
- Current application processing time is about 2 to 3 weeks, starting once your application is complete.
- To verify an offer, email the admissions office with your full name and reference number.
