A Private Investigator, herein further named "P.I.", may work for a security company that employs PIs, legal firms requiring surveillance services, or businesses that provide private investigation services only. The person may be required to work extended hours and in rapidly evolving, tense or dangerous circumstances. The PI is held to a high standard of confidentiality, maintaining the integrity of files and evidence, notebook notes, report writing, and preparing court ready documents, as well as testifying in judicial or quasi-judicial forums.
