Is it for you?

Starting a new career or changing one is not an easy decision. For some, it is a lifetime decision and for some a life-changing experience.

People enter justice studies from all different backgrounds. Those who thrive in this career are the ones who have:

  • Good judgment
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Self-discipline
  • An appreciation of Canada’s rich cultural diversity
  • Enjoyment working in different geographic locations in Canada or outside Canada.

A few important scenarios for your consideration:

  • If you are already an immigration consultant and licensed, you can register for this program and C.C.E.C. may allow some credits toward some courses taken from C.C.E.C. or other designated similar program providers, helping you not only save on tuition fees but also time.

  • Those who qualify for subject credits may complete this program sooner and carry two diplomas with two skill sets: one for work as an Immigration Consultant, and the other for work in Citizenship and Immigration Case Processing and Enforcement Services with an option to work for the government in Canada or overseas.

  • If you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada who would like to work abroad for the Canadian government directly or indirectly, this program may help you to learn the required skill set for a suitable job.

Foreign Nationals

  • For international visitors or temporary residents in Canada, this program does not require a study visa or study permit because it is less than a six-month study period and, as per IRCC regulations/policy, does not require a study permit or visa.

  • If you are currently in Canada either visiting or on a temporary resident permit status; or under a bridging open work permit program waiting for a final decision on your PR application; or you have already submitted your PR application and are waiting for a final decision; you may take this course to learn the advanced-level skills, and once you have PR status, start your career matching this program without wasting time, ready to play your part in the Canadian economy.

Regulatory Licensing and Binding

Moreover, for the Citizenship and Immigration Case Processing and Enforcement Services Diploma, once you complete the program, you don’t have to pass any other exam from any regulatory body. No more yearly licensing fees, CPDs, PMEs, record-keeping or audit, liability insurance, or finding and dealing with clients or maintaining an office.

If you take this course, you may decide to choose to be a part of a decision making or decision seeking process (i.e. being an Immigration Consultant) if you already are, or are going to be, an officer.
